A LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT
The Honorable President of the United States The White House Washington D.C.
Dear Mr. President:
I feel it my duty as a Christian and doctor of medicine to protest the recent ruling of the Supreme Court on abortion. This ruling is in direct opposition to the Word of God and should not be tolerated in a country that professes to have Christian principles.
This country has wandered far from the Lord Who rules over all and still comes to us with His warnings e.g. the Vietnam War.
The abortion ruling will only lead us to further apostasy and ultimate destruction.
The Lord creates all life and no human being has the right under any circumstances to take that life, whoever does is a murderer and no murderer shall inherit the Kingdom of God.
Dear Mr. President I hope and pray that you may have the inner strength and conviction to fight this evil ruling with the power invested in you.
Respectfully
P.S. Dr. Willekes is a member of our Sioux Center, Iowa, Congregation.
THE REV. A. W. VERHOEF
On his way home from Corsica, South Dakota, Rev. Verhoef had to be hospitalized in Denver, Col. After four days he could return to Chilliwack, B. C, but it was necessary that he undergo an operation, for the examination showed that in the previous operation one gall stone which was lodged in the tube was not removed. May the Lord strengthen him in body and soul. We hope that by the time this reaches you, he will be home again. We do not know from one day to the next what may happen. We pray that the Lord will soon enable him to resume his work in his congregation again. We commend him and his family to God, and to the word of His grace.
ANNOUNCEMENT
At the request of the Rev. and Mrs. G. Kuyt, I wish to inform you that they have succeeded in engaging a teacher to instruct their children while they are on furlough in the Netherlands during the next school year. Mrs. Abe De Bruyn of Grand Rapids hopes, the Lord willing, to leave in August and go to the Netherlands for that purpose. May it all be in the favor of the Lord.
Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. — Jude 24
