BOOK REVIEW

This is in response to a request to mention in the “Banner of Truth” a new book that has been published here. I would like to say a few words about “The Story of My Life” by Cornelia Ruit. This book is being sold in the Netherlands for the benefit of our Mission, so Mrs. Abe De Bruyn decided to translate the book and do likewise. She would be happy if her work was rewarded by the sale of many of these books.

Since 1925 we have enjoyed much contact and friendship with the Ruit family in Dirksland, also with Jacob, the son of Mrs. Ruit and her first husband. Mrs. Ruit, the mother of Cornelia, was a woman chosen by God and richly blessed with grace and spiritual gifts. According to God’s sovereign good pleasure He also glorified His grace in the hearts of her children. We have spent unforgettable hours with that family, especially in the years when we were moderator for Dirksland, we often visited the daughters in their sickness and weakness.

Young and old, read this book about the way God led “Corrie”. The Rev. P. Blok of Dirksland, having been her pastor for almost twenty years wrote the Introduction, to which I need add nothing. In this book you will read what God is and remains for His people. God’s people have a God for eternity, but also for this time.

May the Lord bless the reading of this book to many souls. We hartily recommend the book, especially since a part of the profit will be for the work of our Mission, and also for the benefit of the two sisters who are still living in Dirksland. W. C. L.
