KALAMAZOO

The Consistory and congregation of the Kalamazoo, Michigan church received the glad tidings that Rev. H. Hofman accepted the call extended to him. That it all may be to the honor of the Lord, the welfare of the congregation, and a blessing for many souls; but also to the peace of his own heart and for his family. May the Lord make the way prosperous in coming over. It is all dependent on the Lord, also in sending more shepherds, in the right way, in His vineyard.

THE REV. A.W. VERHOEF

On October 17, 1983, was the day that the Rev. A.W. Verhoef remembered that twenty years ago the late Rev. L. Rijksen installed him as minister in Barneveld. Thus far the Lord has upheld and strengthened him in the ministry, even after his heart attack.

May the Lord spare him further for many years for his family, for his congregation, for Classis Far West and for the denomination. From ourselves we have nothing, but it is Israel’s God Who strengthens us.

May the Lord bless all his labors, and prepare us all for that great and never-ending eternity, so that the day of our death may be better for us that the day we were born.
