REMEMBER
What will transpire for each of us
When life on earth shall cease?
Will we then meet a God of wrath
Or One of love and peace?
Whatever will befall us then,
Yet one thing shall remain;
For both the wicked and the just,
For those in bliss or pain.
The word “remember” shall abide
In every single soul;
To those who would not seek the Lord
And those who were made whole.
What agony shall they endure
Who would not enter in!
But spent their time in vanities
And would not part with sin.
The word “remember” then shall burn
And ever shall increase;
Because they did not heed God’s call
Of mercy, grace and peace.
The righteous too shall ne’er forget,
But always will remember
The way God led them while on earth
And was their great defender.
Despite their falls and wanderings
And numerous sins untold;
God always brought them back again
As Shepherd of the fold.
Oh, may we all remember now
While in the day of grace;
That we must have Christ’s righteousness
To stand before God’s face.
