CHURCH SERVICES AT SEVEN PERSONS, ALBERTA, CANADA
At the request of members who are living at Medicine Hat and adjacent places, the consistory of the Lethbridge congregation decided to establish a branch in the vicinity of Medicine Hat under the supervision of the church at Lethbridge. The town of Medicine Hat is more than a hundred miles from Lethbridge.
In accordance with the request of the consistory, Rev. C. Hegeman of Sioux Center first held a gathering of the members who are living in that vicinity, and afterwards spoke for them on the evening of June 27. The minister had for his text at that hour I Samuel 17:29b: “Is there no cause?” His theme was, “David’s Strength.” and he spoke about the following points:
1. An assaulted young man
2. A harnassed enemy
3. A divine victory.
There were about forty persons present at this gathering. The branch of the Lethbridge church already has their own building which they obtained with the help of the mother-church. A school building was purchased and placed in the vicinity of Medicine Hat, in the village of Seven Persons. The people hope to have regular services there soon. May it all lead to God’s glory and an eternal blessing for precious souls.
The correspondence address is, Mr. Evert Vanden Broek, Box 904, Medicine Hat. Alberta, Canada.
