ACTIVITY REPORT OF THE MACEDONIA MISSION SOCIETY
The printing of the blue booklets containing sermons of many of our ministers continues. To date 170 different booklets have been printed containing 269 sermons. 3,450 books are printed of each issue, and to date 435,505 books have been printed. The first booklet was published in 1963 and as each sermon was made available a new book was printed.
The Bible History by John Vreugdenhil, or “The Words of Wisdom” booklet, continues to be read and the corresponding questions answered by many. A total of 7,262 answer sheets were received during the year of 1977. Thus far 353 have completed the entire set of 72 books.
Also, the Church History is being read and answered by many. 1,985 answer sheets were received during the same period. 139 have completed this set of 37 books.
These answer sheets are corrected by a correction committee which meets every three weeks on Wednesday evening. An average of 20 members attend each meeting with approximately 600 sheets being corrected each time. This includes both Bible and Church History.
Just to give everyone some idea of where our Bible History replies come from, there are participants in 12 foreign countries. At present we have 316 U.S. participants, 513 Canadian and 738 foreign students, with the majority of these foreigners responding from Africa.
Further, with respect to the Church History course, there are participants in eight foreign countries, U.S., and Canada, 143 responding from the U.S., 149 Canadian and 23 foreign students.
Since our last report, we now have a correspondence committee consisting of ten men who meet every Tuesday evening to handle the incoming mail, record keeping of each particpant, and sending out the additional books.
This correspondence work was formerly done by Mr. John VanGrouw but due to all of his other duties and his advancing years, he suggested that this portion of the work could be taken over by others. He has for many years freely given of his time and effort, and also his home, in this work, which the Society is very grateful for.
May the Lord continue to give strength and a desire to do this work, and that it may be used to the salvation of lost sinners; but above all, that His Name receive all the honor and glory.
Respectfully submitted,
Cornelius Bush, Secretary
