Jesus, the needy sinner's Friend,
These children we to thee commend;
If'tis thy will, reveal thy face,
And save them by thy matchless grace.

This work is great, needs power divine,
And as we know not who are thine,
Submissive for them still we'd pray,
And wait the Lord's appointed day.

Preserve them from the snares of youth;
Grant them the life and power of truth;
Teach them to watch, to pray, to praise,
And honour thee in all their ways.

If there's but one—and who can tell?—
For whom Christ died to save from hell,
It would rejoice our souls to see
That one, dear Shepherd, brought to thee.
