Synodical Meeting

The Lord willing, the 2008 Synodical meeting of the Netherlands Reformed Congregations will be held in the Coveil Avenue Church of Grand Rapids on September 17 and 18. Rev. E.C. Adams, as minister of the calling church of Corsica, South Dakota, will open the meeting at 9:00 a.m. on September 17, 2008. There will be a special prayer service for the Synod on Tuesday, September 16, at 7:30 p.m. in the Coveil Avenue Church with Rev. A.H. Verhoef officiating. We request that consistories and congregations remember the Synod in their prayers in the coming weeks. May the Lord’s blessing rest upon this important meeting; may He guide the delegates in their deliberations, and may all the decisions reached be to His honor and glory. We pray for traveling mercies for the delegates and for the Lord’s Spirit to be in our midst.

Chilliwack Youth Camp Conference

This year, the Lord willing, the Chilliwack congregation will be hosting its annual youth conference at a new location called Loon Lake Camp. This camp is located approximately an hour’s drive from Chilliwack in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. The camp is being planned from Monday morning, August 18,2008, to Wednesday, August 20, 2008, in the afternoon. There will be bus transportation available for all attendees. The total conference cost will be $150.00 per person if you are registered prior to July 15, 2008. After July 15th, the cost will be $160.00 per person. All registrations must be received no later than August 5,2008. Included in the registration fee will be the cost of all meals, snacks, and lodging. All citizens of the United States who wish to attend must have a valid passport to enter Canada.
