COURTNEY VAN MAREN — Thanks for your letter, Courtney. Yes, I do make up the quizzes and stories. That is why you might find one easier and another harder although I try hard to make them so everyone will enjoy them. I’m glad you liked it. I’m so excited to hear about your baby goat; how is he or she doing? Here in New Jersey the weather (I’m writing this at the end of May) has been different every day. We’ve had quite a bit of rain; we’ve had beautiful spring days; and here and there we’ve had a hot day that tells us summer is on the way. No, we don’t have Victoria Day, but maybe it is a bit like our Memorial Day when school is closed and many families have barbecues. Poor little rabbit; your dad and brother certainly did their best to save it. We’ve been seeing some wildlife here recently: deer, a mother bear with four small cubs, a rat snake, and of course, plenty of rabbits, birds, and chipmunks. Once, one of our two dogs caught a chipmunk. That was sad for the little animal.

GEMMA & CARLYE KRUL — I think having a pancake day with your Oma is such a great idea, girls. I’m sure it was very special, not only because Oma made them for you but also because she was there to enjoy them with you. My children also had a pancake morning with their Oma a few years ago. They loved it. I hope you enjoyed your uncle and aunt’s visit very much, too. It is extra special to be with relatives you haven’t seen in a long time. Can you think of someone in the Bible who was very happy to see his brothers after many years even though they had not been kind to him?

ADRIANNA, JOSEPH, & SERENA BYERS — How did Grandparents’ Day turn out? Did you like reading your poem, Serena? It sounds like you have a very nice new van. The best part will be the air-conditioned ride during the summer months, I’m sure. What type of new gadgets have you found in it, Joseph? You are right, Adrianna, sometimes when people become fathers and mothers, they realize how much their own parents did for them and how much parents love their children. God’s Word also speaks of children. In Psalm 34 we read, “Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.” Pray often that you may be given this fear of the Lord.

LAURA DUYZER — Thanks for your note and answers, Laura. It was good to hear from you again. Are you still taking care of dogs? I hope that as we work on the quizzes there may be a blessing for each of us in searching God’s Word. The most important blessing needed from God’s Word is: “Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testily of Me.”

AMY BOSMAN — How are your kittens doing, Amy? I imagine they are very cute and playful. Did you name them? How was your camping trip? Where did you go? Did you have pleasant weather? Let me know how you did on the quiz this time. I hope you will enjoy it. By the time you read this we will be into the middle of summer. The seasons change again and again, don’t they? Many things change, but in the Bible we read, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
