Letters to My Young Readers

AMY BOSMAN — Thanks for your note, Amy. How was your class trip? Is Sunset Manor a home for the elderly? I have been on similar trips with third graders, and the residents of the home always love such singing and playing, don’t they? I’m glad you could go and sing and play for them. It is good to think of others. Did you miss school because of snow days? What do you enjoy most about school?

LAURENE BOER — Siamese cats are beautiful, Laurene, and cats can be great cuddlers, can’t they? I can see why a cat is your favorite animal. I think I have more than one favorite animal. I love dogs and birds. I like all farm animals, too. There is a psalter which tells us, “The life of each creature the Lord makes His care.” It is a wonder to think that the Lord sees not only each person on this earth hut knows each creature, too.

BETHANY ALEMAN — Thank you for both of your letters, Bethany. You are up early helping your dad on Saturdays! Do you enjoy selling at the market? If you didn’t live so far away, I would like to shop at your organic stand. Did your dad read Christmas stories again? How was your piano recital? How did the Christmas programs go? I hope we may still think about Christmas even though it is past. Ask the Lord often for that wonder of Christmas, okay?

JANICE ALEMAN — Happy birthday, Janice! I hope you will have a good day but also that the Lord will bless you in the coming year with the most important gift of all, a new heart. How old are you now? The Lord has spared you, hut we do not know how many years we will have. Some live long lives while others are short. We all think we will become old, but it is so very important to seek the Lord while you are young.

SUSANNA ALEMAN — Hello, Susanna, I am happy that you have joined your brother and sisters in doing the quiz. Thank you for your answers. You did a very good job and you print your letters so neatly already. Did you have to recite a verse or sing a song in the Christmas program? What was it? If you are learning to read, perhaps you will he able to read the Bible soon. Did you know that the Bible is the most important and very best Book of all books?

MARILYN & JOHNATHON HEGER — How are you doing, Johnathon and Marilyn? We were sick but are getting better, thank you. No, we don’t have any snow. It must he very cold by you if it is too cold to skate or toboggan. How was your day with having a friend at your house? It would be wonderful if you received your own school belonging to the church next year. It would be a gift from the Lord, don’t you think so? You may pray, asking the Lord to make it possible.
