New Titles from Bible Truth Books
Beginner’s Bible History Series by M. Waterman—In recent weeks, a seven-book series for children has been published by the GBS (a Dutch organization similar to the well-known Trinitarian Bible Society among Englishspeaking churches). Each book contains a series of chapters about a well-known Bible person or event and is written for children ages 7 to 9. The books have recently been re-translated here in North America and are available as individual copies as shown below or as a full set for $31.00. Each book contains between 50 and 80 pages and includes a respectful illustration for each chapter.
Joseph, the Preserver of Lives $7.80
Moses, the Servant of the Lord $3.25
David, the Man After God’s Own Heart $7.80
This Is the Light Prepared to Shine $7.80
The Lord Is Risen Indeed $3.25
Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, Volume 1 $3.25
Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles, Volume 2 $3.25
The Book of Gold by D. denHaan—It is Monday, November 13, 1618, and it is busy in Dordrecht. Many men in black suits arrive. They speak about the doctrine of the church, mission work, and about the Bible, a Book full of gold. This illustrated book tells the story of the Synod of Dort and its translation of the Dutch Staten Bible. Hardcover, 51 pages. For ages 7-9. $13.00
The Grain Is Ripe by L. Vogelaar—A well-written biography of Rev. Dieleman, who was ordained and installed in his first congregation of Borselle, the Netherlands in 1948 at the age of 34. Although Rev. Dieleman’s name is not so well-known here in North America, he was given the words to speak and was wellrespected. In the six years that followed, he received 39 calls, including calls from the congregations of Norwich, St. Catharines, Clifton, and Franklin Lakes. In 1951, he was installed in the congregation of Yerseke and later accepted a call to Moerkapelle. However, his sudden death by an accident with a train reminded the congregations of the uncertainty of life, and that the Lord’s servants are under His sovereign authority. He knows all things— also when the grain is ripe. Hardcover, 316 pages. $26.00
Unending Praise Be Thine by the First Netherlands Reformed Choir, Grand Rapids—This CD is a recording of the choir’s 2018 Psalter program, with several Psalters sung by the children’s choir.
